Women’s Health

At Clarity Health DPC, women’s health is an integral part of comprehensive primary care. We provide personalized care throughout every stage of a woman’s life—from menstrual health and contraception to fertility, pregnancy planning, perimenopause, menopause, and healthy aging.

Our goal is to understand the whole person, not just a symptom or lab result, and develop a care plan that fits your health goals and your life.

1. Preventative Women’s Health

Cervical Cancer Screening

We provide convenient, in-office cervical cancer screening, including Pap testing. We’ll help determine the appropriate screening schedule based on your age, history, and individual risk factors.

Personalized Breast Cancer Screening & Risk Assessment

Breast cancer screening is not one-size-fits-all. We assess your personal and family history and other risk factors to develop an individualized screening plan.

Our approach may include:

  • Breast cancer risk assessment using the Tyrer-Cuzick model

  • Evaluation for hereditary cancer risk and consideration of genetic testing

  • Personalized recommendations for screening mammography

  • Discussion of supplemental screening, including abbreviated breast MRI, when appropriate

  • Guidance for women with a family history of breast or ovarian cancer or other risk factors

Know your risk. Understand your options. Create a screening plan that is right for you.

2. Contraception

Personalized Contraceptive Counseling & Medication Management

Choosing contraception is a personal decision, and there is no single method that is right for every woman. We provide comprehensive counseling to help you understand your options and choose a method that aligns with your health, preferences, reproductive goals, and lifestyle.

We can discuss:

  • Birth control pills, patches, rings, injections, and implants

  • Long-acting reversible contraception

  • Non-hormonal options

  • Benefits, risks, and potential side effects of hormonal contraception

  • Contraception for specific medical conditions or life stages

  • Medication management and follow-up

Whether you are starting contraception, changing methods, or reconsidering what has worked for you in the past, we can help you make an informed decision.

3. Sexual Health

Sexual Health & Well-Being

Sexual health is an important part of overall health, but concerns such as low libido or pain with sex are often overlooked or difficult to discuss. We provide a comfortable, judgment-free environment to talk openly about sexual health concerns.

We evaluate and treat concerns including:

  • Low libido or changes in sexual desire

  • Pain with sexual activity

  • Vaginal dryness

  • Changes in sexual function associated with hormonal transitions

  • Medication-related sexual side effects

  • Other physical or hormonal factors affecting sexual health

You don't have to simply accept sexual health challenges. Options and solutions are available.

4. Fertility & Preconception Health

Fertility Evaluation & Family Planning

Whether you are thinking about starting a family now or planning for the future, we can help you understand your reproductive health and identify factors that may affect fertility.

Care may include:

  • Fertility and reproductive health assessment

  • Menstrual cycle evaluation

  • Initial fertility testing and laboratory evaluation

  • Review of medications and medical conditions that may affect fertility

  • Preconception counseling

  • Nutritional and lifestyle considerations

  • Referral to reproductive endocrinology and fertility specialists when appropriate

Our goal is to help you understand your reproductive health and make informed decisions about your family-building plans.

5. Bone Health

Bone Health & Osteoporosis Prevention

Bone health becomes increasingly important as women age, particularly during and after the menopausal transition. We assess your individual risk for bone loss and fractures and develop a plan to protect bone health over time.

Our approach may include:

  • Assessment of osteoporosis and fracture risk

  • Review of calcium, vitamin D, nutrition, and lifestyle factors

  • Exercise and resistance-training recommendations

  • Review of medications that may affect bone density

  • Appropriate screening with bone density testing

  • Interpretation and monitoring of bone density results

  • Pharmacologic treatment when indicated

  • Prevention strategies to maintain strength, balance, and independence

Strong bones are an important part of healthy aging.

6. Perimenopause & Menopause

Personalized Perimenopause & Menopause Care

The transition through perimenopause and menopause can affect nearly every aspect of a woman's health. Symptoms can be significant, yet many women are told they simply need to "live with it."

As a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), Dr. Bernardy provides evidence-informed, individualized care throughout the menopausal transition.

We address concerns including:

  • Hot flashes and night sweats

  • Sleep changes

  • Mood changes

  • Brain fog and concentration concerns

  • Changes in libido and sexual health

  • Vaginal dryness and genitourinary symptoms

  • Changes in menstrual cycles

  • Weight and body composition changes

  • Cardiometabolic health

  • Bone health

  • Hormone therapy and non-hormonal treatment options

Menopause is a natural transition—but that doesn't mean you have to suffer through symptoms without support.

7. Menstrual Health

Understanding Your Menstrual Cycle

Your menstrual cycle can provide important information about your overall health. Changes in your period—including heavy, painful, irregular, or absent periods—deserve evaluation rather than simply being dismissed as "normal."

We evaluate menstrual concerns including:

  • Heavy menstrual bleeding

  • Painful periods

  • Irregular or unpredictable cycles

  • Missed or absent periods

  • Premenstrual symptoms

  • Changes in menstrual patterns

  • Abnormal uterine bleeding

Evaluation may include:

  • Detailed menstrual and medical history

  • Physical examination when appropriate

  • Laboratory testing

  • Hormonal evaluation when clinically indicated

  • Additional diagnostic testing or imaging

  • Medication and non-medication treatment options

  • Referral to gynecology when specialized care is needed

Your period is a vital sign. Changes in your cycle can provide important clues about your health.
