Cardiovascular Health & Prevention
Heart disease remains one of the most important threats to long-term health, but many cardiovascular risk factors can be identified and addressed years before a major event occurs.
At Clarity Health, we take a proactive, personalized approach to cardiovascular health. We evaluate your traditional and emerging risk factors, family history, fitness, lifestyle, biomarkers, and heart rhythm to develop an individualized prevention plan.
Cardiovascular Risk Assessment
Understanding your cardiovascular risk starts with understanding the factors that influence it.
We assess both modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors, including:
Blood pressure
Cholesterol and lipid levels
Blood sugar and metabolic health
Smoking and tobacco exposure
Physical activity and fitness
Nutrition and weight
Sleep and stress
Family history
Age and other inherited risk factors
We use this information to develop a personalized strategy for reducing cardiovascular risk and optimizing long-term heart health.
Advanced Cardiovascular Biomarkers
Traditional cholesterol testing provides important information, but it doesn't tell the entire story. When appropriate, we may use advanced biomarkers to provide a more complete picture of cardiovascular risk.
Testing may include:
Standard lipid panel
Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)
Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)]
High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP)
Blood glucose and A1C
Other metabolic markers based on your individual risk profile
These results are interpreted in the context of your overall health, family history, and other cardiovascular risk factors.
Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Scoring
For selected patients, a coronary artery calcium (CAC) scan can provide additional information about the presence of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries.
We can help determine whether CAC scoring may be appropriate for you and incorporate the results into a personalized cardiovascular prevention plan.
Cardiovascular Fitness
Cardiovascular fitness is an important component of heart health and longevity.
When available, we can evaluate fitness data such as VO₂ max and wearable-device metrics to better understand your cardiovascular fitness and recovery.
We may review:
VO₂ max
Resting heart rate
Heart rate variability (HRV)
Activity and exercise patterns
Recovery trends
Other available biometric data
Rather than focusing on a single measurement, we look at trends over time and how these metrics fit into your overall health.
Heart Rhythm Evaluation
Symptoms such as palpitations, a racing heart, skipped beats, dizziness, or unexplained episodes of rapid heart rate may warrant further evaluation.
Our cardiovascular assessment may include:
On-site EKG
Review of wearable heart rhythm data
Ambulatory cardiac monitoring, such as a Zio patch, when appropriate
Evaluation and follow-up of abnormal heart rhythms
When specialized cardiology evaluation is needed, we coordinate appropriate referral and follow-up.
Family History & Genetic Risk
Your family history can provide important clues about your cardiovascular risk.
We review personal and family history of:
Heart attack
Stroke
High cholesterol
High blood pressure
Arrhythmias
Premature cardiovascular disease
Other relevant cardiovascular conditions
A strong family history doesn't mean that cardiovascular disease is inevitable. It can help us identify where earlier or more personalized prevention strategies may be appropriate.
Lifestyle Optimization
Medications are only one part of cardiovascular prevention. We also focus on the foundational factors that influence heart health every day.
Your personalized plan may address:
Nutrition and dietary patterns
Physical activity and cardiovascular fitness
Strength training
Weight and body composition
Sleep
Stress management
Tobacco cessation
Alcohol intake
Recovery and overall lifestyle habits
Medication Management
When lifestyle changes alone aren't enough—or when your individual risk warrants earlier treatment—we provide medication counseling and management as part of your overall prevention strategy.
Depending on your risk profile, treatment may include discussion of:
Statins
Other lipid-lowering medications
PCSK9 inhibitors
Blood pressure medications
Medications addressing diabetes and metabolic risk
Other evidence-based cardiovascular therapies
We consider your risk profile, laboratory results, family history, preferences, potential benefits, and potential side effects when developing a treatment plan.
Longitudinal Cardiovascular Care
Cardiovascular health is not a one-time assessment.
At Clarity Health, we establish a baseline, identify opportunities for improvement, and reassess your health over time. We can track changes in blood pressure, cholesterol, metabolic markers, fitness, body composition, biometric data, and other relevant measures.
The goal is proactive prevention, not simply reacting after cardiovascular disease develops.
Your heart health deserves a long-term strategy designed around your risks, your data, and your goals.
